Many people are worried about the thought of extra work that might be involved with washing nappies
Fortunately the old methods of soaking in a sterlising solution such as Nappisan, or boiling are no longer necessary with modern washing machines and detergents.
If you simply consider the washable nappy routine as just that – a different routine from that of disposable nappies, you’ll soon discover it’s not hard work at all.
There’s no heavy bags of shopping to get, no wrapping nappies in nappy sacs and less rubbish to put in your dustbin.
Of course you can soak nappies if you choose to – and indeed there are modern soaking solutions such as BioD’S Nappy Fresh made for the purpose, but we expect you may prefer the least labout intensive methods.
We suggest to dry pail your nappies – that is to store them dry in the bucket without soaking. If you soak, then there’s the issue of filling and draining your nappies. |
